The Staff:
We enjoyed staying here for 3 nights. Friendly and very helpful staff. Thier pizza was delicious, not to mention a staff member brought it to our RV on a golf cart. Pretty cool! Would have giving it 5 stars, but the sites and roads need some serious repairs.
This KOA is decent but it could use a couple of upgrades to make it great.
The Bathrooms (for the Kabins):
The staff are super helpful and nice and the grounds are pretty clean. We were arriving late, so they left the light on outside our cabin which helped us to find it and not trip over anything.
It’s rather hard to navigate during the night. Somehow it seemed that I got lost going in a straight line heading to our cabin... after backtracking we found that there was another road that I missed because it wasn’t marked and looked like the surrounding grounds and didn’t look like a road at all.
We stayed in the cabins this time (we’ve stayed here before tent camping). The cabin (aka kabin) was a standard KOA cabin. The cabin had A/C, a heater and spare lights over the bed. BUT the cabin could’ve used a good dusting and the door was quite flimsy and didn’t block any road noise or the sounds of the gaggle of Canadian geese that flew into the pond out front.
The Kabin:
The only other thing that could use some improvement pretty readily are the roads. We came in at night, and even with a map, it was quite hard to see where we were supposed to go and we made several wrong turns and the road was a bit tore up in places. If they added nice medium size reflective signs indicating where and when to turn and park for certain things, this would really help.
They take you right to your campsite. A few minutes later they bring just-baked huge chocolate chip cookies. They have a pizza shop at the office/store. Nice pool. We were parked right by the lake, paddle boats available and fish and release too. Shaded lots made it comfortable even in the GA August heat.
I like that the restrooms are individualized, meaning you get your own space. However there is no flat table top to put your toothpaste and such. I’d like to see a little table or cabinet put in to each bathroom.
The staff here are great and very polite. I’ve been to this KOA twice so far and each time I’ve been happy with the staff.
The interior roads needs some repair . There needs to be better sign approaching the park. We stayed here for three days in our way south the host and workers. Are the best. This park takes Big Rigs ours is 42 plus a tow we had no problems.
The Campground:
Overall it was a good experience and we could stay here again.
The interior was dusty but otherwise quite clean and didn’t smell heavily of cleaning solvents. However the door hardly fit in to its jamb and there were large gaps and the door was so flimsy that every sound (even leaves falling outside) could be heard inside. Also it sounded like the bearings were going out on the motor for the wall mounted a/c and it was making a shrill sound and we just turned it off and used the ceiling fan.
Overall I am satisfied with our visit because it’s still a KOA and pretty well cared for. There’s just some improvements that could be made.
